Archive conservator Annie Starkey working at a lightbox to reattach a section of a letter, which dates back to 1826, that had torn away. Annie uses very fine remoistenable tissue and infilling areas of loss using Japanese Kozo paper. The treatment uses a minimal amount of moisture to reactivate the adhesive on the tissue to stabilise areas of weakness to reduce the risk of further damage occurr
