Whitby, 26th August 1968 A the celebrations marking the Captain Cook bi-centenary at Whitby, where a commemorative plaque was unveiled. Sir Dennis Blundell, High Commisioner for New Zealand, accompanied by the Marchioness of Normanby and followed by Lady Blundell and the Marquess of Normanby Lord Lieutenant of the North Riding .
